In the vast St-Émilion appellation, where the excellent rub shoulders with the ordinary, it’s always a good idea to trust the estates that have made consistency of quality their hallmark. With this very fine wine, there’s no mistaking it.
D de Dassault, St-Émilion, 2016, Bordeaux, France
The second wine from the estate that produces its St-Émilion grand cru classé, this delicious “D” is enjoyed here in a classic, flavorful vintage that will hold up for a very long time. This Dassault cuvée expresses notes of fresh blackcurrant, juicy blackberry and black berry fruit with hints of raspberry. Seductive aromas of violet and rose enhance the tasting, with a gently spicy finish. Slight roasted notes underline the whole beautifully. A very fine wine! 91 pts.
